I have a 2006 Ford focus 107,000 miles. New plugs. Car starts fine when initially cold, but after sitting for a few hours it will start, but not keep on running. Please advise. Scott

I’d check for any codes it might have first, even if CEL isn’t on, as it may not be a permanent code yet. Dieing once it’s warmed up tends to indicate either some kind of issue with the bank1 O2 sensor, or idle air control issue from a seal or other vacuum leak. Does it go from running fine for the first few minutes, then start running rough/surging, or just go from fine to stalling directly?

The Focus turns over, then dies right away unless I give it gas. As soon as I get it in gear and run for a few minutes its ok. Will check codes as you suggest. Thanks, Scott

Try cleaning the mass airflow or Iat inlet air temp sensor.
            which ever one you have.

Sounds like a vacuum leak to me. Look around for some vacuum hose that got knocked or has fallen off. When I had this same problem I went through all sorts of testing and replaced a few parts until one day I noticed the big hose from the pcv valve to the intake had fallen off it’s nipple at the intake. This was in a hidden spot (or that’s my excuse).
