      Welcome to the forums!

Unfortunately i am not able to assist you with this issue as i have no training at all in Diesels. Hold tight though as i am sure someone else with more experience with diesels will chime in soon enough.

it sounds like your fuel quality is poor. also you may have varnish and and gum. try running a diesel injector cleaner through your
fuel system. C8-) you also may have to add a conditioner to your fuel.

Sounds like the filter is doing its job. it is fine, you just need to go though diesel purge once a year to keep the injectors clean. If it is too late and injector fails, you can rebuild them.

Yes good advice and I ran some cleaner through it a few weeks back before I thought about changing the filter, maybe I disturbed all the muck and that’s what I’ve got in the filter?

Thanks for your response and your reassuring answer, hopefully all will be well but I will keep you posted. I’ve had a look at the injectrs and the possibility of rebuilding them (see my links) and it doesn’t look great, seems to be throw away type these days not like the lder and more serviceable injectors.

Hi and thanks for your response. A couple of people have offered advice on this so far and reckon there’s nothing abnormal as such, so hopefully this will be the case…

I think the fuel injector cleaner was a great idea but lets look at the evidence. Are you experiencing any performance issues right now? If not to be honest I would just leave things as they are, as the saying goes, “if it ain’t broke don’t fix it.”
