my service manual said that the PCV valve is on the oil filler body. Mine is not. I have searched the net and found that it might be on the block in the rear. I see something that it blue (some webpage said it had blue on it) Is this the location. I went to autozone and when they looked up my engine it had no PCV valve listed. Also how often should I change it?

I googled it,ran across this forum for dodge trucks. This might help even though it is for a 2007…
“I’m a little late to the party but I have been trying to figure this one out for quite a while. My 2007 Ram is a 4.7L FLEXFUEL. Finally found out that yes, for this model the PCV valve is on the drivers side valve cover at the very back near the firewall. It does not look anything like the traditional PCV valves. It is about 4 inches long and BOLTS into the valve cover. The hose still slips off the top of the valve easily though. It is not easy to get to but if you remove the air filter down to the throttle body, you can reach it with with some difficulty. I used a 34 mm deep socket. I had to use a 3/8″ drive wrench with an adapter for 1/2″ drive due to the limited space. The Dodge dealer part number is: 53032925AC and cost $20.25 at my local dealer. Hope this helps. On most other models, the PCV is located on the oil filler tube.”

Many modern PCV systems are not serviceable in that there is no replaceable ‘valve’ in the system. It may be a combination of baffles in the valve cover and possibly some electronic components.
That said, are you trying to solve a problem, or are you just replacing it as a ‘service’ item?
I am replacing it as a service item. I obtained the vehicle for retirement and have replaced all the fluids. Guess I am just kinda anal in that way. I want to have a base point to know when to service stuff.
thanks. Mine is not a flex fuel, however I believe it is in the same location. Could not even find the part at the local stores. Finally found it on rockauto. Alot of work for such a little part.
If you wouldn’t mind posting a pic when you replace it, that would be great. I’m sure it will help others that might run into the same issue.
Eric asked me to post pictures when I changed my pcv valve. Mine did not have it on the oil filler. It was hiding in the back on the right side of the engine. Was pleasant to get to. 🙁
