I have a 2006 Chevy cobalt that is constantly wobbling. At low speeds it feels like the car is bouncing up and down. Higher speeds the car feels like it’s shaking or clicking. Everything is coming from the driver’s side front wheel.
I also noticed that there is a large clunking sound when backing up while turning, also from the driver’s side.
I’m going to check it out tomorrow, any advice on what to look for. I’ve already tried swapping tires and the problem is still there.
The car has 215,000 miles and I think most of the suspension is original.

There is a possibility that it is more than one problem here. Usually, a bouncy car is due to weak struts or shock absorbers. Clunking noise could be because of worn out bushings. If the clunking is happening while engaging reverse then it could be the engine or transmission mounts.
