2005 Honda Civic Si (EP3) – Firm Steering Feel

Hey Eric,

I have a Honda EPS question. I have an 05′ Honda Civic Si (EP3) that I bought with 140k/one owner/Clean history. I had newish EP3 back in 2006 and don’t remember the steering being so firm. It really takes some muscle to navigate this thing on the highway especially above 60mph. I don’t have a EPS light on and you can feel the power assist come on when the car is running. I’m just wondering if this is normal or do the electric assist motors wear out over time creating this firm steering feel?
