My Mom owns a 2005 Honda Accord LX, and the power-door-lock on the passenger side has quit working. I can hear the lock-solenoid in there popping, but the lock-knob at the top of the door never moves. Clearly there’s a connector in there that has broken, or at least that’s what I’m thinking has happened.

Whatever the problem is, I need to remove the door-panel to get in there and fix it… Obviously, I don’t want to break anything while doing this — are there any tricks I need to know about before attempting to remove this door-panel, or is it pretty much like any other car’s door-panel?

      Thanks,
      L.

have a look at this it should answer all your questions re door panel removal:

It shows 2003 Accord and I believe 2002/3 – 2007 were the same.

I had the same issue with my 2005 Accord. It’s probably the door actuator. See this link for my original forum post and then go to the link in the last post. I found it useful when removing the door panel and replacing the actuator. https://ericthecarguy.com/forum/8-Service-and-Repair-Questions-Answered-Here/823-05-accord-power-door-lock-actuator-question

Unfortunately, I get a “page not found” error when I click on the link in the last post of that forum discussion.

But it looks like the video that richiepearce posted is exactly what I’m looking for, anyway.

            Thanks to you both!

Ok, so here’s my next question. I do an on-line search for this door-lock actuator, and there must be half-a-dozen different ones that *claim* they fit the right-front door on a 2005 Honda Accord LX 4-door, but they all look very different.

Can anyone give me the original OEM part-number? Because all the listings I’ve found do say that they replace a different OEM part-number, and if I can get the right OEM part-number then I think I have a better chance of ordering the correct replacement part.

So if anyone has a service manual from a 2005 Honda Accord, I’d be very grateful if you could give me the OEM part-number for the right-front door-lock actuator on an Accord LX 4-door.

              Thanks.
              L.

Here is a simple tip for you… Call your local Honda dealership and have your VIN ready. Give the Parts guy your VIN number and he can tell you the part number… Piece of cake…. Should take you around 5 minutes. If they are closed you can always get on the Internet and get the number of a Dealership further west!!!

                Cheers!
