Car runs horribly. At idle misses and pings and rpm fluctuates around +-700 rpm. With throttle pressed fully car will not go over about 2k. With throttle pressed missing clears up but still has a small random miss. In gear car misses horrible and will barely move starts spark knocking then stalls. Found a leak at egr gasket with smoke test. Will that small vacuum leak cause this amount of issues? Intake manifold has been off several time to change out the egr gasket as no one makes a correct fitting gasket for this car…..3rd one and it still does not seal correctly. I’m almost leaning toward a clogged cat at this point. Any help would be greatly appreciated. PO171 shows up frequently with po174 showing up once.

If no one makes a correct fitting gasket, you probably need to go to the dealer with your VIN and get a proper gasket. If you’re getting a code on one bank more than the other, that needs to be diagnosed also. If the intake manifold has been off multiple times, it’s possible that the gasket(s) are damaged or not sealing properly. It’s also probable that the code has entered the car into some sort of limp in mode.
