I recently inherited this car. It has less than 41,000 miles as of today. Had an LOF and a safety inspection done after driving the car from CA back to ID.
The Goodyear technician found the A/C compressor was leaking. He showed me the “green” substance that he found on the compressor and underneath the car. Is the compressor an item “easily” replaced in the driveway? I am disabled and have access to vehicle ramps, jack-stands, jack, and a variety of tools, including a Harbor Freight vacuum pump and gauge set, (fixed my truck’s A/C with these). All estimates have been in the $1100 – $1600 range.
The weather is warming up and I do want to use this car, instead of my truck, for commuting to classes. Thoughts? Ideas? Suggestions?
