I need opinions about this vehicle . This sport trac has good reviews mostly .The not so good reviews concern wheel bearings , brake rotors and brake shoes. They say the wheel bearings have in some cases worn out at 5,000 miles. Another report said they had to change rotors twice due to warping. I do not see any factory recalls about these issues. I am looking at a Ford explorer sport tracx xls with a 4 liter v/6 . It has 58,790 miles and the ask price is little over 9,000. I haven’t seen this Ford in person and have not driven it. I would have it checked by a mechanic before I bought it , but I just don’t know what to think. Here at Eric T.C.G. there are many very good mechanics and knowledgeable people ,therefore I ask for your opinion here. Thanks,Jerry

If its a 2005 most likely the problems have already come and gone.
Have your mechanic check the vehicle out especially the known issues.
If the vehicle checks out and you like it buy it. If to many issues keep looking. 🙂I guess the important question is if the “issues” were with factory parts, installed properly. Or random parts probably installed incorrectly. The only rotors I’ve ever seen warp are near the end of their service life and a bearing could easily fail after 5000 miles if incorrectly installed.
