We recently got a new car and there’s a new problem.

I have the weird problem ever. We now have a 2005 Ford Expedition. It has Rear Air but it’s weird. Sometimes it works for a driving session. But most of the time it doesn’t and blows out the intake vent and now the outgoing (Ceiling) vents are the intake. Recently it started blow no air anywhere but the motor is still running. They have tried replacing the resistor but to no avail. Its has reverse polarity or something. :unsure: I want us to just get a new blower motor for it. 🙁

The Front AC and Heat Work just fine but 1, 2, and 3 are very slow for some reason and 4 (Speeds) is like a tornado.
A common failure point on expeditions is the rear blend door. They are pretty straight forward to get to (behind rear right trim) and I have had luck repairing them in the past rather than replacing. Just something to look into, no guarantees.
Based on your description I think the blend door is a great place to start. If the motor runs it’s not the motor. It sounds like an issue with airflow and the blend door is in charge of channeling air between the heat and AC. If there’s a problem with it, it will cause issues with airflow.

You got it
No door position can make the air blow out the intake in that particular auxillary system. But I have seen the blower motors spin backwards and do exactly what you are describing. When it is pushing air the wrong way open up the panel and unplug the motor and see which wire is hot. There is 2 wires one is black w/green stripe and the other is orange with red stripe. The black with green stripe is actually the hot wire (it comes from the blower motor relay and is powered by fuse 2.107 in the main fuse box 30 Amp) and the orange wire with a red stripe is the ground wire which is grounded through the blower motor resistor pack.
