my 2005 dodge ram 1500 4.7 L is making a whinning noise almost like a worn bearing noise from the drivetrain..the truck has 365,000km or 227,000 miles on it ..the diff is just very slightly low on fluid..could this be the problem…the transmission is also slow to shift and sluggish…also could be a drive shaft problem? the noise heard from both inside and outside the truck when moving..

That’s hard to say for sure. You might check the U joints as suggested. You might also change the differential fluid to see if the noise changes or goes away. If it does, then you know your problem might be located there. As for the transmission shifting, this could also be the source of the noise. Since replacing the diff fluid and checking the U joints is easier than diagnosing a transmission, you might consider starting with those first. If you still have issues, it may be time to look more closely at the transmission. More info on finding noises here.
