I changed the oil on a 2005 Chrysler 300 3.5 just the other day. So I’m kind of an expert now.

If you have a lift, drop it out of the bottom. If you don’t have a lift, you don’t have a choice, take it out the top.

thanks ,I do have a lift ,so droping it with the transmission will be faster then pull out from top and leave the transmission there

In all honesty every tech I’ve seen that needs to do extensive engine work, or an engine R&R just drops it out the bottom. That’s how they are assembled at the factory. Easiest way to get them out.

drop it out the bottom, get everything unkooked except the cradle. Set up 4 jack stands*tall, and heavy duty* , lower the cradle onto the stands, take out the final 4 bolts, then lift the car off the assmebly. Actually really easy.

yes job done thanks a lot ,was in the pocket .I really like the way the 300 is set up ,I remove the pcm connectors put it on top of the engine disconnected all the plumbing ,a/c lines .starter cables one stays with the body and the other one with the engine, remove the complete exhaust was seize pain in the ass,and drive shat ,place our special table under the sub frame ,1 jack stand under the transmission ,unbolted all 6 bolts from sub and tranny cross member ,lifted the car and voila, then transfer everything to the salvage yard engine and re attach it to the transmission ,and job done ,the book give 13 hours ,car was running after 11.5 hours
