      Hey Guys, Hey Eric,

Me and my friend have a problem. We swap the engine of an 2005 chevy optra(standard transmission). The engine that we put in the car works perfect before we take it out from the other car. Everything hooks up. Now the problem is it won’t start. It cranks but doesn’t start. There is another weird thing happening, when we hook up the battery and open the door all the accessory light in the dash board lighted, but when we close the door everything will turn off but all the gauge goes up and down. When we turn the key and start the engine we didn’t hear any sound from the fuel pump. We know that its electrical issue but the problem is, We don’t know where to start the trouble shooting process. Any input will be highly appreciated.

      Thanks

Check all connections are plugged in and in the right spot.

Sounds like damage done to wiring while pulling, or replacing engine. Check all wiring in the engine compartment for damage. Pull the interior light fuse and see if the dash still acts up. Its a start

Is the check engine light on? pull codes and post if so.

Thank you guys.. The problem is already solve. It’s just a common mistake. The two body ground supposedly hook up in the engine and the chassis but what we did is we hook the two ground in the engine. We put the other ground in the chassis and problem solve. 🙂

                Thanks for your help..

                      Thank you guys,

As I told you we already work out the wiring problem. Now there is another problem. We found out that the engine that we put has a head gasket leak. 🙁 It will be fun replacing it. :silly:

And one more thing. Do you have any manual that pertain to replacing head gasket, It will be a big big help and reduce our time in replacing it.

Sorry, I don’t have the procedure for that job. You might be able to find an online source.
