I have a 2005 Chevrolet Cavalier with the 2.2L engine and 4 speed automatic. Recently the fuel pressure regulator went bad while I was driving down the road which has been replaced, and holds 50PSI with no bleed down after teh pump primes. But after I replaced it the engine will not start. Checked compression on all 4 cylinders and came up with 40-50 PSI on all 4. Pulled the cam cover suspecting a timing chain issue, however the chain is intact albeit with a bit of slack in between the 2 cam gears (the engine has 85,500 miles and well cared for) I have not checked for injector control or spark yet, but at this point I don’t think that’s really the issue here, but will be doing that very soon. Any suggestions are welcome as I do not want to blindly throw parts at this problem nor do I want to do a timing chain if I don’t have to (its really tight quarters in there)
Look forward to any suggestions or advice anyone can give me.
