Hello! So my fathers Camry has had this problem for awhile and I’ve been just ignoring Erik’s “if you have any automotive…” and it just hit me that maybe someone here will know how to fix it lol
So his car jerks forward just as its about to come to a complete stop. Like you know that feeling where you know you’re about to feel the tires like roll to the stop and you prepare yourself for the little shake as it stops? Well, instead of the little sake you get a jult forward.
He’s taken it to many shops, mechanics keep telling his different things need to be replaced and others just flat out did not know
Hopefully you guys and gals could help me out as I plan to surprise him by fixing it while he coming over for the weekend

Sometimes when you do a hard enough stop it will jerk right as you come to a stop. You know when the car will usually sway back from the suspension when you come to a complete stop? well instead of that feeling, you’ll get a jerk forward like maybe 2-5 inches of travel as you come to a complete stop
So is the engine starting to stall as you are slowing down and then when you come to a complete stop the engine speeds up real hard jerking you forward? I’m sorry you aren’t giving much information to what is happening at the time

Incorrect, there is no stall or rpm spike. All that happens is what i described. That was a thread here with that type of issue but thats not my issue. This only happens when coming to a stop, not when cruising or anything
