      Hello,

My cousin z350 overheated once, he checked the radiator reservoir and it was empty so he filled it with drinking water. I know that’s wrong, he should have used 50/50 mixed and understand why, unfortunately he didn’t know it.
Long story short, two months later the radiator reservoir is empty again and car is over heating.
My first concern is does that mean there is a leak in the system? Or the water is vaporizing and escaping the system as steam. Is the cooling system design to keep steam in? Sealed enough for that purpose.
Second most important concern is can i add 50/50 mix now or I need to fush the system before adding it?

Btw, it’s 120 F in here at the afternoon for the whole month of june ans July lol. So using regular water definitely won’t cut it.
      Advise please.

There is a leak if you are losing water/coolant.
A pressure test will show you where it is, but a simple way is to carefully fill it with distilled water and see where the water is leak is from
Are there any white spots around the engine or its hoses?

From what i have seen, coolant will leave white residue when it evaporates.

If you find the issue and fix it yourself, remember to bleed the system
