2004 honda accord radio does not have sound

There is a malfunction in my radio with the sound. I know there are issues with these radios, but I thought maybe someone has any ideas. It also is intermittant

When the issue happens, dose the radio display stay on….

I would pull the radio and check the connection plugs….

The radio display stays lit/on? If you put a cd in (if equipped)
does the sound play? Check in your trunk that nothing is hitting
the speakers or the wires are not together. Either a speaker is shorting
causing the amp circuit to overload or the amp itself is a problem.
You could try and unplug a speaker at a time and see if sound returns.

If fiddling with it doesn’t resolve the problem, pull the radio and take it to the dealership. They will ship it off to a repair shop. When it returns expect to pay between 100 and 200 dollars.

radio display is functioning. volume intensity is showing but no sound. This happen three weeks ago. Last week the sound came back. Now no sound.

I had a radio fail that way. It was the digitalizer on the back of the volume control.
