Must be fuel leak week, I have a 2004 Chevy with 5.3v8 sitting in my driveway with a fuel leak coming from the top of the tank, I decided dropping the tank or pulling the bed was not in the cards for the budget here so i pulled the plastic dura liner and cut a bifold into the bed above the tank to gain access to the pump/sending unit. As I had suspected the leak is right where the steel line passes thru the top of the sending unit. First plan was to replace the unit and call it good but right now the guy I’m doing this for is flat broke and I have been unable to locate a used unit. My “plan B” is to drill out the steel line completely and start at the top of the pump and form a new line from where it is clamped to the pump to where it joins the fuel lines, I will get a few pictures as this nightmare progresses.
