I was using a CS Pulley tool to get my pulley off. It’s the first time I’ve used one of these and per the kit’s instructions I put the slot bolts all the way down, not tight, but snugly on to the 3 pronged bracket. Once I got the pulley off, I saw that I had nicked the timing disk of the crankshaft and I also cracked the lower timing gear cover. In hindsight, I should have used shorter bolts (which weren’t provided), or maybe I could have succeeded without putting those alignment bolts all the way down. Do I now need to get a new washer that sits on the crankshaft and a new lower cover? I originally thought the brass washer thing was for timing because of the holes but I think it’s just used to keep the timing belt in place? Can I maybe just put this in a vice and flatten it back out?
Appreciate any feedback.
