Hello all.
I have a 2004 Acura TSX 6spd, ~110k mi, that makes a clunk/knock when engaging the clutch. When driving the car, it very much seems like a broken/loose engine mount. However, every mount appears to be fine when inspected. The shifter visibly moves when engaging the clutch in first. In second gear, you can’t see it, but you can feel it move. It’s barely noticeable in third gear, and not really at all noticeable in fourth though sixth. The car will occasionally pop out of second gear when going up a ramp and turning to the right, I.e. as in a parking garage.
The noise appears to come from above the transmission, in the area of the shifter mechanism. Here’s a video, every clunk/knock beginning at 0:07 is me letting the clutch out to varying degrees w/ the parking brake set:
Other than this issue, the car drives fine. No whines, no grinds, no trouble going into gear, clutch doesn’t slip.
Thanks in advance.
