Hello guys. I got a friend car in the drive way that has no clutch pedal. He wants me to pull the trans are redo the clutch system. However I have a feeling the problem may no be with the clutch plates its self.
I dont know these cars that well but I know My ranger did this a time or two and it was due to air in the hydrolic system. Before I go wasting this guys time and money can some one give me a walk threw on these cars….
Do they use a hydrolic system – if so how do I go about bleeding it.
Are there any other reason for the pedal to fail????
The car drive fine – I push started it and drove it threw all the gears with out any issues. (Floated the gears) There was no clutch slippage or anything like that.
The car is a 2003 station Ion 2.2.
      Thanks any advice???

If this is any help: it has a hydraulic clutch. The slave cylinder is one of those with no throwout arm – I hate them. Pedal to the floor usually means the hydraulics are broken. I never bleed one so no help there.

if the clutch pedal goes to the floor, it’s not the clutch. To do so would require that ALL the clutch springs failed at the same time, very unlikely. More likely one or both hydraulic cylinders is bad.

It sounds like either the fluid is empty or something has failed in the clutch hydraulics. Some Saturn’s are a bitch for bleeding the air out. They are so hard to do that the replacement Saturn part comes with the clutch master and slave already assembled and bled.

Update. I pulled the clutch hydraulic line going into the trans – Upon doing so a lil fluid came out of the trans side – None came out of the line. – I had my brother push in the clutch and hold it – just a tad of fluid came out. Now none comes out no mater wat. So I guessing we need to try and bleed this thing.

Can you tell me about these two other cylinders?

Does this sound like Im going to have to pull the trans.

You have a master and a slave cylinder.
