2003 s10 speed sensor wiring

      I am splicing the correct speed sensor wire connector but on the original it is green and purple but on new wire connector it is black and purple which way do I wire it???

        My thought is that the black is ground and the purple (green) is signal.
        These sensors are self powered, meaning the revolutions inside the case generate the signal needed to create movement in the speedometer.

            Ok,
            Lets play ..fill in the blanks

            Speed sensor Pin 1 color __________
            Speed sensor Pin 2 color __________

            Car harness Pin 1 color __________
            Car harness Pin 2 color__________

            As I stated, Black is ground, You should be able to verify using an DVOM.
            The other wire (purple or green ) would be signal.

                So is green or purple on car ground I got to splice in the other sensorry harness

                  Speed sensor pin 1 purple (signal wire)
                  Speed sensor pin 2 black to Car pin 2 green (ground wire)
                  Suggest that you verify ground by using a DVOM.
