This is just a suggestion, definately like the others said check and make sure you have a fully charged battery and then if you are experiencing a no start condition you may have a 5 volt sensor shorting out internally, had it happen on Chryslers before. You have to unplug each sensor one at a time until the vehicle starts, kind of a pain but it works, of course if it doesn’t start plug that one in and move onto the next one. Usually when I had this problem I’d get a code for communication but not always. Anyhow, some food for thought. Good luck.

First I would check the battery charge level. make sure it is fully charged then do a load test on it. make sure all your batt connections are clean and tight. next test the alternator to make sure it is charging properly. the o2 sensor prob could be a shorted wire so check the wiring before condeming the sensor its self.

This is what I would also suggest. Modern vehicles need their electricity and they want it in exact amounts, I can’t tell you how many times I’ve seen issues caused by low voltage like this. As suggest also check the connections as it does sound like you have an electrical connection problem. Here’s a link to a video I did on Charging System Diagnosis that might also help

Thanks guys for all the suggestions… i fixed it the same day, i am now just getting around to posting the fix. What it ended up being was the positive (red) wires going to the starter and the fuse box. terminal connections were tight and not corroded. but i did notice that both of the red wires were a little burnt approx 1-2 inch length from the terminal. so what i did was cut the wires back about 3 inches and reattached it to the terminals after cleaning them up with a wire brush. i did notice that the positive red wires appeared stiffer then the negative wires…is it possible for those wires to go bad or rott? after doing this the car stared up just fine and the engine light went out…infact the starter is starting stronger…it makes me think that the connection never was that good and things..ie the starter was not able to draw enough power from the battery which may be why the wire heated up and burned the outer casing. What do you guys think…and should i replace those wires.

yes that could happen and I would replace the wires.

If you did a voltage drop across the suspected area you would have known for sure, here is a video showing what I’m talking about.

If you did replace the wires or have fixed the issues, i would recommend using some type of dielectric grease also. Its your friend.
