      [b]engine starts intermittently”chasing a ghost” new battery old one was no good,replaced starter relay, still only starts some times. when it does not start, there is no power to the s terminal on the starter. I tried moving shifter while holding the key to start[ still wont start. how do i check the neutral safety switch and the ignition switch? all connections are tight and clean./b]

        Perhaps it is a problem with the Passlock…

          Also check the battery connections. If they’re corroded or loose that might contribute to the problem. More info here.

            I’ve been reading up a little on Passlock for a crank/no start on my Blazer. Passlock should only cut fuel injection. You’d still be able to crank the engine consistently. If you wanted to cover bases anyway, the security light should turn off in three seconds of turning the key on and shouldn’t be lit while cranking.
