I have owned this vehicle for about 2years now. The previous owner sold it due to the CEL being on and not being able to pass emissions test. The previous owner had it diagnosed and the codes that come up were for the Crank and Cam position sensors. The CEL has remained on the entire time I have driven it but the car drives PERFECT. I don’t want to just throw parts at it seeing as the CKP is $160 and the Cam sensor is $60. Any ideas? Only reason I am even bothering looking into these two is so I can sell the vehicle.

Have you tried just deleting the codes to see if they come back?

Yes the codes have been deleted multiple times. If there was a wiring issue with another sensor interrupting single voltage for the crank or cam sensor would the car either not run or run shitty?

If you’re looking to sell and not spend money, perhaps disclose the issue and deduct that amount form the price. Otherwise you’ll need to get the signals from the sensors to verify their operation to find out which one is bad. This is best done with a lab scope. Unfortunately we can’t tell you what part to replace.

Good luck and keep us posted.
