Ram 1500 with 4.7 automatic stops cranking while trying to start. Engine seems to hit on one cyl. then stops cranking. When this happens it looses 12V signal to pcm and will not attempt to start unless you turn the ign. to off and then try restart. above 50 degrees will start ok and run fine 75% of the time below that it will not start which I mean it stops cranking. You can keep doing it and sometimes it will crank long enough to start. Replace Ign switch changed out fuse box unit with module had found some green connections. Tried a different PCM unhooked air bag module and removed inst. cluster still does it. HELP PLease

I saw your post over in Technicians Only, and I know you’ve done a few things– might want to copy that over here as well, together with a more detailed description of the problem.

Obvious things to check– fuses, ignition switch, starter relay, wiring, any aftermarket alarm/remote start system, the starter and solenoid themselves. A basic question is whether the problem is in the starter/solenoid or the vehicle wiring. Check by jumpering directly to the solenoid to see if you have the same problem.
