Hey Everyone,
I have a 2003 Dodge Dakota that runs pretty good in the morning when I commute to work about 1/2 an hour away on the highway. But when I commute home at the end of the day, after its been sitting for about 10 hours after the morning commute it always runs really rough. Seems to be warm weather related??? A mechanic mentioned a possible injector leak, does this sound right? The only codes that its throwing are 2 evap leaks which I have yet to fix, but are these causing this issue??

I’m not a Certified mechanic, and don’t take responsibility for any actions taken from this message. It could be that you need to Clean the injectors, the codes it pulls, I would repair those first thing, and see if your issue is resolved. Are you having misfire or car getting shaky at low or high speeds?

it seems to shake more when accelerating, but in general it just runs really rough. no misfire codes, though. theres a chyrsler trick where you can turn the key to the on position then back to off three times and it lists the codes on the odometer. i get a 442 and 455 which are both evap leaks. its weird that it happens (the rough condition) only in the afternoon.
I’ve got an evap code as well, but I have an idea of what it is, and it doesn’t affect my performance, and I recently had an RPM issue, but I would get the codes repaired, the issue COULD go away. and for it to be shaking while accelerating, that’s Strange. And, I didn’t know that trick about Chrysler, that’s neat, why can’t all vehicles do that?? We wouldn’t need Computer Scanners lol
