My 2003 Concorde Lxi fuel gauge is not reading correctly. The needle can be at the 3/4 full mark, and I have driven about 65 miles. The needle moves above or below the 3/4 full mark while drive on flat roads. Is this an indication that the fuel pump is going bad. Also, is the fuel pump accessible from the inside of the car, or do I have to drop the tank?

      Thanks,
      Bunzjx

This is not an indication of a fuel pump going bad, but a fuel level sending unit or an electronic issue in the system between the fuel level sending unit and the gauge.

Many times the fuel level sending unit is the problem, which is located on the fuel pump…. But Ironically, you may have to replace the whole fuel pump if the fuel level sending unit iis not individually replaceable

You should have an access panel in the trunk to the fuel pump…

Pic of older fuel level sending unit working part…

          Thanks Karl,
I will try and see if I can find the access panel this weekend. I had to drop the tank on my son’s Taurus, without a lift,
          it was not fun.

          Thanks again,
