I noticed some movement and a clocking sound from my 2002 V6 accord front axle shaft (Drivers Side)
      Is it normal?

Eric, you’re missing the Canadian flag ?

is there anyway I can send the video to you?

I’m not one of the regular regulars (words are hard this morning!) but I think I can help with that.

If you have a Google account you can go to Youtube and sign in, and click the Upload button in the top right corner.

I would also go ahead and take a look at Diagnosing Noises in Your Car, specifically CV Joints and FWD Axles. Is this a noise that you notice changing if you rev the engine in neutral versus going down the road?

Thank you… I just posted my first utube video.
You can see the movement and hear the noise at the following link.

It’s not axle, it’s shaft bearing. If it’s not leaking ATF out, you good for some time but it’s job looming over your shoulder from now on.
CV joints in axle shafts are made to stretch and have designed play in them, you can forcefully produce noises in them at that being OK. But what I see is actual shaft play in the differential, that points towards bearing in differential.

It wouldn’t surprise me if you’re right. I noticed the movement and noise while trying to figure out a clacking noise. Turns out the actual issue was the upper control arm bushing that meet the frame not the ball joint. Second replacement in under 3 months, first time it was the ball joint. Good thing the part has a year warranty.

I’m in Montreal, the roads are really really very bad here, pot holes and cracks. So, I took up doing my own suspension work to save a few bucks.

I assume the bumpy roads are slowly taking toll on the other parts also, leading up to the differential bearing.

2002 Accord V6 currently up to (260000 KM) = (161556.51 MILES) I hope I manage to reach my goal of (400000 KM) = (248548 MILES)

                Thanks for your replies everyone….
