hello! I am new to this site, but I have a small issue. I bought a salvage car and repaired it but come to find out the car has a brand new jasper engine in it, [reading less then 4k] knowing this what brand and weight oil should I use? Called jasper and they would not help me at all because I wasn’t the person that bought the motor.. this is the V8 4.6 i THINK.

Per the Jasper Engine website – http://www.jasperengines.com the engines are remanufactured and not rebuilds, therefore using the OEM specified weight would be the proper oil to use in the engine.

The weight oil is not specified on the Jasper site for the Ford Triton engines I have been able to find, nor do they specify synthetic over conventional oil.

The 2002 Mustang owners manual specifies 5W-20, please find the attached on page 202 (02musog3e.pdf)

The 2002 Mustang maintenance schedule is also attached (02nmgmg3e.pdf)

        Hope this helps

thanks BigDanIL279, and well Now Ive got another issue that just popped up. My turn signals and flashers stopped working on the mustang today, looked in the owners manual for a fuse or relay location and couldn’t find one. I do not think it is the switch or a bad ground mostly because high beams and windshield washer/speed selector is working fine. Has anyone had this issue before, or know where said relay would be on this car?

Not a problem, we are all here to help each other.

It looks like on page 161 of the owners manual the passenger compartment fuse panel lists the electronic flasher fuse as number 13; 15 Amps.

On page 163-164 the power distribution box in the engine compartment fuse 10 handles the parking lights.

When replacing the fuse in the distribution box disconnecting the battery’s negative (-) terminal is recommended.

The owners manual is too large for the forum; please use the Dropbox public link for download.

pulled every fuse just to be safe, all of them are not blown, so what is the next step? do I need to look at buying a blinker or has someone had this issue before, and know what it is, or how to fix it?

The electronic flasher should be accessible from the passenger side and is mounted to a metal member behind the radio.

Rockauto.com has the OEM available; you should be able to source one local at your preferred auto parts retailer.
