Hello,
I have a 2002 Mazda 626 that is having weird problems with the throttle body. I have a known good throttle body and a new gasket, I have checked for vacumn leaks and much more, but I think I have narrowed it down to the accelerator cable clip that holds the cable in place. Some of the teeth that hold it still have broken off allowing it to have play in the cable, which makes the idle vary depending on if and when you press the gas pedal. Is there any fix for this? Can it be replaced? If so, how do I remove it from a junk car? Also, are there any other possibilities of what this could be? No check engine codes.
