I have a 2002 Honda Accord EX 2.3L Special Edition. I see water leaking from the area behind the vacuum canister and engine compartment wall behind the dash. Do you have an idea of what this is?

There is no obvious hose in sight. Just water drops leaking from where I said.

If it’s clean water then it’s almost certainly your AC evaporator drain. This is normal. The AC does also run with the defrost system to help dry the air.

Check all your fluids – if nothing is low, drive on.

Thanks Rick, it is clean water and does not drip all the time. All my fluids are normal. I thought for sure another $100 or more service job.

I have another problem with engine cutting off. I start the car from a cold start (after car sitting over night). Engine idles steady at 1.3 rpms (strong idle), after pumping the gas the idle drops down to .25 rpms and engine sounds almost going to cut off and does cut off after coming to a dead stop sometimes. After 5 seconds the idle rises to .80 rpms at steady idle. Any idea what causes this?

I was thinking fuel pressure regulator might be flooding the engine a bit from not regulating fuel.

Many things could cause that – sticky idle control comes to mind. They can get gunked up inside and perform poorly when the gunk is cold and viscous. As they warm their function improves. Can’t hurt to clean it.

It does improve when the car is warmed up. Do you have a link to a how to video on “How to clean idle control”?

What about injectors do I need them serviced or should I start with fuel injector cleaner going through the system from gas tank?
