hello everybody
I’ve got a 2002 ford focus 1.6 petrol engine, with an automatic gearbox ( 4-Speed Automatic Transaxle – 4F27E, made by Mazda I think). was bought from romania. the car is having about 100.000km and I had thinking I should change the transmision fluid. the service manual doesn’t recomend changing the transmision fluid saying is lifetime fluid. In romania I couldn’t find technicians that are not specialized in automatic gearboxes, and the guys from workshops told me what is on service manual. the oil change would cost me about 250$ with ford oil and original filter+gasket.
now the quistion is, should I change it? and if I need to change it can I use some other type of fluid ? the ford transmission fluid is kind of expensive at 20$/liter and I need about 8 liters.
another think that I saw, the fluid on the dipstick is have bubles and I saw in one of the videos that blubles on that fluid are not good.thank you
