Hello,
I have a 2002 Dodge Stratus 2.7L and when I go to start it the 20 amp (ign/fuel) fuse blows immediately. The car doesn’t turn over, the fuse blows before that happens.
Some history. This happened last year and I replaced the fuse and the ignition switch. The fuse blew several times, but after several fuses it worked. The problem hasn’t shown up again until today. I went out this morning to start the car and this happened.
Please help me in determining what the problem might be. Seems I’m not so lucky with cars these last couple months.
Could it be my starter? I tried replacing the fuse 4 times today and each time it blew.

Disconnect the starter and replace the fuse. Then try
to start the car. see if the fuse blows. If it does not
blow check that 12v is seen at the starter. if all above
is seen starter would be suspect. Have it checked at an auto
part store for free.I removed the starter relay, replaced the fuse and turned the key. The fuse did not blow. I put the relay back in and the fuse blew.
