I have a 2002 Chevy Silverado 1500. Recently I had the gas and brake lines replaced, I have no idea if this has anything to do with the issues I’m having now. I got in my truck after work and started it and all of my gauges started going crazy and my battery light was blinking as well as the seat belt, abs, parking brake lights. After a minute it went back to normal. I then put my truck in drive and started driving and it did it again. What could this be?

Not sure if this will help, but I have a 2001 jeep and the cluster RPM would die, the speedo would die, oil pressure would spike, voltage would spike, check engine, air bags, srs as I was driving. For a while my fix was to smack the cluster pretty good, after a while that stopped working. I took out the cluster and cleaned all contacts and put electrical greese in the plugs to ensure good contact. It’s been about 7 mo and all is well. Might want to give that a shot. Also if you have a scanner see if the PCM is displaying the same. I doubt it is and just the cluster

Some part of your electrical charging system was likely disconnected during the service, then not reattached completely. Likely a battery connection or the main alternator connection is not all the way tight. This causes intermittent voltage issues which make the computer freak out and that registers on your gauge cluster and wacky needles and lights. Such a loose connection can also cause your truck to get stuck in limp home mode too, which greatly reduces tip speed.

I have seen weak or failing batteries cause the dashboard lights to go nuts on some vehicles. I would start there and then widen your search if that isn’t the issue.

That was a bad year for instrument clusters on GM vehicles. Quite common for them to go bad / burn out

If the instrument cluster, here is a place to send it in to get rebuilt with a lifetime warranty, http://www.myairbags.com They are quick too,you send your instrument cluster in with a copy of the receipt if you pay for it online. They email you back when they receive it and when they get done rebuilding it sending it back to you.

Your cluster is probably going bad. Put many a clusters in your era truck.

99-07 GMs used a crappy stepper motor in the gauge cluster. They fail in almost every vehicle…eventually. You can replace those motors yourself if you can use a soldering iron. The cluster is easy to take apart and all you need to change the motor is a solder iron and a desoldering pump. You can pick up a set of motors on eBay..usually they come with new cluster light bulbs also. Go ahead and change them all while you in there. Do a search on YouTube and you can find step by step videos on how to do it. Doesn’t have to be a Silverado video all the clusters from those years are pretty similar
