i would be greatful if anyone could enlighten me on this problem. first off my ignition is completely gone. i crank it with a screw driver. this is (passlock system 2) without a key the ignition cannot read anything and obviously the cars computer is going to arm itself if anything other than the proper key goes in the tumbler. i know theres some kind of way to get around this system. because the car magicly cranks about 2 to 3 times a day if i let it sit for a couple hours at a time. i dont wana buy a new ignition brand new for $150 although i can buy a new collum with ignition for around $80 at a junk yard. but i joined to this page simply to start saving money. didnt we all? and i am well aware of this resistor procedure. but id like to think theres a easier way. help?????????

my 2002 cavalier will not start. its anti theft system is a (passlock system 2) and i can almost never get it cranked. i have no key because the ignition was supposed to be replaced before i baught it. however i still crank it with a flat head. only works wen it wants to. there are a couple ways to dissable the v.a.t.s according to my research but its very complicated.and mostly all ways require the key witch dont exist anymore appearently… now for the facts, i have a good batteri, good fuses, good relays, the engine has no problems internally. great car. sometimes i turn on the ignition and ill wait for the security light to dissapear. ill try and crank it ital run for right at 2 seconds and then my injectors are killed off by the v.a.t.s. fuel pump is fine. ive tried different ways to get around this even tried doing the door unlock trick from inside the car. again i have no key for this car. but im pretty certin theres a way to dissable the system completely. and just a heads up, this information im seeking is not all for trying to steal a car or whatever, “hence the reason there is limited information on the matter. but its my car and id really love to be able to crank up and go with no problems. any help at all would be greatly appriciated. feel free to message me.thankyou

My buick did the same thing when i first got it. The mechanics always said they wanted to bypass the ignition switch and stuff. Bottom line, it didn’t work. It may work for some people, but I ended up getting a “new” computer from the junkyard and haven’t had a problem since. Good luck, hope this helped.

I have an 05 impala, and somehow the system was bypassed, I’m not sure how as it was like that when I got the car. It’s possible, but I am unsure as to the “how” part.

thanks guys. i have figured out a couple tricks with the car. these tricks are a bit confusing but they do work. normally my car wouldnt crank but 1 time a day. 2 if i went hours without messing with it. but anyway i ran a wire from the fuel pump to the hot. jus letting it click on and try to turn it over. and wierdly the theft light will flash for a second and then it will just stay on. cause after it stops flashing is the only time it will turn over. and theres jus a split second u have to crank it to catch it just right but thats how i do it. my car is retarded. but i have a nack for figureing things out. not all gm models will work like this im sure, but my car is now my bitch and it does what i say . hope u guys find something useful from this. :side:

There is a SQUARE WAVE generated in another box the ECM has to see, or it will freak out. There is a way to bypass this and that stupid chip on the key but I will not post it here. But I will give you one clue, its EASY if you know anything about electronics at all.
