I have noticed that after removing the stock deck there is no more door chime . am i missing somthing ? I also checked for shorts.

The door chimes are produced from the radio.
Not knowing what head unit you purchased or adapter harness used.
This shows what wires do what.

Not knowing the specifics for a aftermarket head unit and adapter harness for your vehicle.
My first thought is that a GM Raptor adapter kit isn’t compatible to a 2001 Pontiac grand am se
Which may well be part or the whole of your issue(s)

Okay as a test I have took the power wire for the dimmer and turned on my lights to see if we power up the radio and the radio powered up and made sound and everything so I’m wondering if it could just be missing the part for the chime .

I couldn’t say for certain if the replacement head unit has the chime function.
You would need to research the specs on the unit.

Interesting, but not all too surprising.
I would be curious if that would trip error code on the ECM.

Never thought of it setting a code . i do have a code reader and will hook it up to see if it sets one

                            Well there is no code.

That’s the same video I used to wire it . It’s all done wright . I think the pcm turns off the account power wire when it don’t detect the chime the stock radio had.
