I have a 2001 honda odyssey that has about 180,000 miles on it. The van has been consuming lots of oil. At first I thought it was a leak, but no signs on the ground where we park. It seems every time i check the oil there is a quart and a half missing. Again no signs of oil on the ground. I Noticed that when I start the car in the morning that it stinks like exhaust then go away after like 10 secs. I also noticed that when i started the car one morning that it hard a very hard time idling as if the car was about to die, but then it would like correct it self. Twice this has happen. I don’t know if that has anything to do with the oil consumption? There is no error codes on the computer as well, no check engine light ether. What do you guys think? I know Eric had a van like this one so maybe he might be able to shed some light on it? 😉

You do not mention how long or mileage between adding oil..
But high rate of lost oil and no spotting on the ground..
Do you have excessive blue smoke out of the exhaust?
What about the undercarriage of the vehicle? is it wet with oil?
If so you may be losing it while your driving.
If not, it is going some where….

Any sign of oil in the coolant?
What about the fluid level in the transmission? is it abnormally high?
