I have attempted to perform a relative compression test on my 2001 Honda Accord V6 by monitoring the battery voltage and using the ignition pulse from the PCM as a trigger for my scope. First, I removed the fuse for the fuel injectors located in the driver side underdash fuse box ( fuse position 1 ). When I crank the engine I can’t detect the ignition pulse on the scope. I replaced the fuse for the fuel injectors and started the engine. I was then able to see the ignition pulse on my scope.
Does the PCM check for fuel injector current or voltage before enabling the ignition pulses?
Thanks,
Jim
