Hello.
I recently changed my timing belt and water pump.
As I was putting my lower timing cover back on, I noticed it is not going all the way in to show the groove on the bolt to put rubber washer on.(see picture)I tried and tried and gave up on that and just put everything else back in together.
I cranked it up and everything was working great except my drive belt is now rubbing lower timing cover.(see picture)I took everything out again to correct this problem but I can’t seem to get this thing in all the way.
I looked on the side and it is flushed with engine and everything but that groove on the bolt just won’t show.
Am I missing something here? Did anybody else have same problem like this?
Please help me. I can’t think of anything else. I even removed all the gasket to see if that will make it go in little further but no help. same thing with gasket removed.
I know it’s something because that rubber washer was on that groove when I first started to take them out.
