2001 Escort ZX2 overnight battery drain

This junk-scort sat for about a month, my sister tried to start it one day and it was dead, so she jumped it….BACKWARDS. After a new battery and 100Amp main fuse it still won’t hold a charge overnight. I’ve did a parasitic drain test and had a reading of 2.64, and had no drop in that reading after going threw all fuses and relays. The battery holds an acceptable reading while running with & without a load.
Am I missing something?
Before I swap out alternators should test anything else?

with your meter hooked up unplug the alternator and see if the draw goes away

Amp draw fell too an acceptable range after unplug. Now I kno
