So my mother in law has a 01 Durango 5.9 and it really has no power at all and it has 2 evap codes (don’t have them at this time but I’m pretty sure they are the same) and very poor gas mileage sense tranny Was replaced also stuck in 4wd. I’d like,to know why? So here’s the details I started driving it and noticed it really has no balls and I figure with suck a big engine big output? I drove Dakota with same engine and it ripped around. Also the oil pressure drops when idleing to just above low and I mean just and when driving rises to just above normal…. Then the tranny went had it replaced by a professional shop and it seems ok besides slamming into gear (we think it’s because it’s,in 4wheel and won’t come out, sense tranny change AND there is a hissing noise coming from the rear end cannot, pin point but,It quit loud at times think maybe it could be a vacuum line off having to shifting, four wheel out?? And now evap codes having,to deal with the cat says one mechanic to her I’m not sure tho… and if you may ask any more problems… yes yes there is haha. But thanks in advance

Sounds like there’s been a lot of work done to the vehicle. It may be that during some of that work the problem you’re having was created. For that reason I would recommend taking it back to the place that put the transmission in and have them look at it. If it’s something they did, they should do the repair for you since they were responsible for the problem. A freshly rebuilt transmission should not bang into gear. You should also be able to switch out of 4WD. The fact that you can get out of 4WD, and you may have a transmission issue, would effect fuel economy. You really need to start by making sure the work that was done was done properly. Once you’ve overcome that, then if you still have issues you can begin to diagnose the problem. More info here.
