      How do I reset the check engine light?
      I had the codes read and replaced all that the codes said needed to be. When I started the truck again the light was still on. I did remove the battery cables for a while to try resetting it that way and still hasn’t went out.

        You’ll have to have them cleared with a scanner, but I’m goimg to go ahead and guess your fault isn’t fixed. It’s most likely a hard fault, and reset as soon as the ignition was cycled on after the battery was disconnected.

        I’d be glad to help you with the codes, if you post them. I work on chevy’s 60hrs a week.

            Not a problem. That’s what we’re here for. I’m sure you know but a scan tool in the hands of autozone is a dangerous thing.

              That is where I got the first read and the truck does run better now.

                Youre most likely getting somewhere then. I haven’t came across any that retain the codes w/ battery replacement unless you use a memory saver.

                  If you just replaced parts the problem may still be there. CEL codes are a guide to a problem it doesn’t mean you replace part ‘x’. If you clear the codes and the light comes back on then you may need to do some more diagnosis. Keep us posted.
