I suspect my ’01 Impala has a exhaust leak. I suspect this because once started up its rather loud sounding under the front passenger door on the outside (or at least sounds like the origin of the sound).
I am in no way at all equipped to do exhause work as I have none of the tools needed. I have not been under the car since I replace the oil in 2012. I just want to know where I should look and how to tell if it’s even leaking. I assume it is leaking where the exhause pipe meets the exhast manifold. It could even be leaking from the Cat or possibly the resignator.
Even though I am not equipped to do any exhaust work I would like to know what to look at so I can know what part(s) to buy. Does Midas still offer the lifetime warranty on mufflers?
