      Hello all!

I commute to work in a 2001 Buick Century that has a problem with the fuel gauge always reading on “Full” I was hoping to see if the ETCG Community can help me diagnose and fix this problem and hopefully point me in the right direction to get this fixed. For about 2 years, the gauge has always been acting sporadic and recently its been always reading “Full” After researching a few forum post it has come to 2 things, Either a pump failure or a cluster failure.

      • I know that the fuel gauge is not psychically stuck, after turning on the car, it will move, then go all the way to the “Full” Mark
      • The only way I know how to fill up is when I reach 250 Miles on the Trip odometer.

Thank you so much for taking the time to help!

Your fuel sensor arm is stuck in the up position. Remove the carpet in the trunk. You
should see a plate remove the screws to access the fuel pump. unplug the connectors
and turn the key on but don’t start the car. The gauge should be on empty. If so your
        level sensor is stuck. 🙂
