My buddies 2001 Acura RL quit after pulling out of his drive way, moving 30ft and then making a left. He said the wheel locked up and that the only thing he could do was stop. I pulled the key out recent the computer like the manual says and the car would not even turn over. Any takes on wait it could be?

sounds like a no crank no start. try putting the car in neutral
        and start it.

Was going to try that but it would not go into neutral.

follow the link I posted. Brake switch check or
                shift lock solenoid.

Are there any lights working on the car? Sounds like an electrical issue to me. Try giving the battery a boost. Check all connections. We need more info.

Ignition switches are a common problem with Hondas. Based on your description, it’s a prime suspect in my opinion. I almost think there was a recall on the mechanical portion of the switch on that vehicle. You might check with your Acura dealer to see if that’s the case. If it is, have them fix it under the recall. If not, then you might pull the lower dash cover down to inspect the ignition switch. If you see any melted solder, replace the electrical portion of the switch and recheck for the problem.

Also, check to see if the brake lights are working. If not, then replace the brake light switch and recheck for the problem.

                    Keep us posted.
