Just picked up the truck this weekend. The previous owner put a new muffler on as well as repairing a leak at one of the seams elsewhere in the exhaust to get it through inspection for the sale. Driving my wife to work in the mess that we’re currently having in the Mid Atlantic and it threw the code. I have a temperature gun and can check the temps before/after the cat to see if it’s hotter after the cat (normal, correct?) or colder (indicates bad cat). Can’t do any of that now with the mess outside.
I also hear that these Tundras hate aftermarket O2 sensors and that not only should they be replaced together (getting them all done at once), but it’s far better to stick with NGK/Denso OEM sensors here.
Is it possible that something wasn’t plugged back in during his repairs, or something got unplugged during the trip this morning? I’ve driven it about 100 miles before the light came on. Any and all help appreciated. Thank you!
