      Replaced sensor.
      Fluid level is good, no leaks that I can see or indicated by level.
      Clean fluid from what I can tell.
      Code still present after unhooking negative battery terminal.

      It seems to be upping the idle speed already. Perhaps I needed to bleed it longer, or wait for drive cycle to clear it? I’m kinda out of ideas now. I did this in a rush out in the rain (east coast here) on the gf’s car. And it’s possible the replacement switch itself was defective..

      EDIT: found the service manuals with the wiring diagrams online, just a N/O switch that closes to ground when the right pressure level is there.
      From the groaning the pump is doing my guess is that the pump itself is just on the way out, but I wish to be further on the hypothesis side rather than guess since this seems to be the 95% or better usual fix(switch) for this issue. Quite possible the car just hasn’t figured out that it’s fixed yet.

      Lists 94k on the dash, it “could” be 194k, seems a bit silly that a digital readout wouldn’t list past 99,999 but from all the driving she does with it, 94k just doesn’t track as right in 12 years.

        The scan tool that I have was only about $150, not only will it clear codes but it has some limited live data capability.

          Yeah, I have a pc one, but I build it into my own car (behind dash now once I got done with some fabrication work I did) so it’s simply not accessible anymore. The SCT X3 tuner I have won’t work for anything other than later model fords even just to read ODB-II.

          I broke down and got an Innova 3160B, as I wanted to get about as good a generic reader with some SRS & ABS capability as possible. Seems to fit the bill, limited as the SRS/ABS reading capability is(fairly short list of specific vehicles in the manual). Should have it by the end of the week. From the moderate amount of research I did can’t really beat it for $200(amazon rules all, from the actual company’s site it’s nearly double that). That model and the company’s sub-models also gets re-badged multiple times, as craftsman’s for one (view the related media on the link above, then check out the craftsman similar ads, didn’t even change the voice used for the actual tool plug, I got a chuckle out of that).
