      hey guys,,i have a 2000 vw passat

        You will really have to get a wiring diagram and flow thru it man. I’m betting the ground is shared with other components. If they aren’t acting up, it’s probably ok. Again though, a wiring diagram and DVOM is your best friend at this point.

          You will have to trouble shoot this one with the aid of wiring diagrams as stated.

          There is some free wiring diagrams that are with the free link to the Chilton’s online in the ‘How To’ section.

          It could be a bad ground or a bad combination switch.

            I can save you the time and hassle of following wiring diagrams to diagnose a bad ground –

            On these cars, the hazard switch and blinker relay are one and the same. 5 minute fix, fairly common problem. It will cost you about $35 to fix it yourself.

              I’m curious to see if this fixes it but I was also going to suggest checking all the bulbs and their sockets, sometimes a blown out bulb or bad socket can cause issues like this.

                it was a loose bulb buddy….i went over a speed bump and it completely failed so i checked all the bulbs,,,,,,,,,,,,,your the man
