      Hey folks,

I’ve exhausted my ability to search further on this topic, so I’m hoping someone here can help. What I’ve done so far:

      1) Checked the fuses – all good
      2) Checked the connections – all good
      3) Brought to AZ to see if they have a scanner for SRS. They scanned – no codes.

I haven’t checked the clockspring, but it does not seem to be faulty as all the controls on the steering wheel work. Also, from my research some people have had success by inserting the yellow double fuse holder correctly, apparently this is tricky. Nevertheless, it is in correctly.

After all this – the lights are on.

Any suggestions on how to check for short to ground or power for these circuits? I’m thinking it’s something along those lines.

      Thanks in advance,

      Sean

AutoZone typically cannot scan SRS. You can get a scanner that supports SRS codes from Harbor Freight for under $100. Remember to take in a 20% off coupon.

I believe any of the $99 models will read ABS. I have the 60694, works great.
I’ll also throw in a plug for my LaunchTech CRP123, awesome scanner and available for next to nothing if you eBay carefully.

FWIW, the fact that the seat belt light is on makes me suspect a seat belt buckle switch is at fault. On my wife’s ’02 Audi, that triggered an SRS code.

Thanks for the reply…. I just may go to HF and get another scanner. I’m wondering… I have a usb OBDII device that I can connect to my laptop, could I use this plus a piece of software to read SRS codes? Anyone know of any hardware/software combo? If not, HF it is.
I should clarify, I do not have any ABS codes, nor is the ABS light on. Only Airbag (SRS) and seatbelt lights.

Definitely. I don’t happen to know any packages, I use a BlueTooth dongle and my phone.

            Sorry, meant SRS. Fixed above.

              Just a thought..
Have you tried to do a ECM reset?
Remove both battery cables from the battery and connect them together for a while.
Then separate them and reconnect to the battery.
